In Car Face Tracking- Overview

A single camera is placed inside the car to observe the driver. The output of the camera is then be analysed to determine driver behaviour.

Aims

• Build a reliable face tracker, which is able to work in all types of lighting conditions that occur in the car environment.
• Analyse and model the driver's face over time in order to detect driver fatigue, gaze movement during driving and mood changes.

Approach

The methods used to track will be based on statistical models of humans faces and active appearance models, integrated with face detection to reliably and efficiently record driver behaviour.
